Tora hosts judo tourney

Curtis Lawton attempts to pin Thomas Zanchetta from the Tora Judo Club in action at the recent Tora Judo tournament at the Terry Miller Recreation Centre. Zanchetta eventually lost by ippon. Tora fighters claimed six first-place finishes in the two-day event.
 
BRAMPTON - Tora Judo Club held it’s 29th annual Judo Tournament at Terry Miller Recreation Centre recently.
Tora turned in some solid performances in the two-day event, claiming 27 trophies from 52 Tora entrants.
First place finishes went to Genna Burnett, Lucas Merrick, Marcus Gordon, Gabriel Sepahi, Nicole Jenicek,and Chad Hackman.
Second place performances were turned in by Alex Pattision, Alexander Burns, Alexander Foster, David Aguiar, Jaydon Rasram, Magaly Bocangel, Océanne Perron, Tara Kelly, Kilyan Medwedyk, Chad Hackman, Renato Bernardo, Heather Reid, and Chris Lamour.
Third place finishes went to Christian Thériault, Crystal Morgan, Daniel Weltman, Jose Bocangel, Sneha Jadoo, Andrew Gavin, Renato Bernardo and Tony Palla.
