Peel police are targetting aggressive and unsafe drivers all month long in the annual spring Project Safe Driver campaign. The crackdown on bad driving started May 3 and ends Sunday, May 25. Speeders, red light runners, impaired drivers, and motorists who turn or change lanes unsafely will be the targets of the increased enforcement on Brampton and Mississauga streets. The roadworthiness of passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles will also be a focus of the campaign. The annual blitzes have become a local tradition and emphasize both enforcement and education, according to police. This week, May 13 to 19, is also National Road Safety Week.
