I too was upset to read Ms. Morandi's opinion that anyone running an air conditioner on Earth Day is in need of a "special ed" program.

Sometimes one has to give the benefit of the doubt when it comes to our neighbours doing things that we may not necessarily agree with.

During the week in question, the thermostat in my house was registering at between 78 and 79 degrees Fahrenheit.

For some people with allergies, asthma or a heart condition, this temperature could be unbearable.

Just a thought.

By the way, my son is also registered in a Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board special education program.

It constantly astounds me the ease with which people will use the most vulnerable in our society to shame people.
